It is never too late to become who we might have been
I have experience of working with people for more than a decade and currently offer therapy for personal growth, healing and change in St Margarets, Richmond Upon Thames.
Over the last decade I have earned the reputation of being able to provide an atmosphere of safety, respect and optimism for the capacity to overcome difficulties.
In the process, my clients develop an increased sense of satisfaction and control over their lives.
I was never happy, always discontent with my friends and work colleagues. Through this work I have been able to tune in to myself rather than other people. I have got to know myself and what I was missing. It was only then that I could start doing something about it.
Meera, Business Analyst
As an integrative psychotherapist (see page) I aim for an honest meeting in the therapeutic relationship. I believe that the type of change possible is matched by the quality and depth of this relationship. You may have ways of habitually relating that become clearer in the therapeutic hour. We can then catch, reflect and re-evaluate these habits in the moment that they occur. Recent thinking at that this is the surest way to reach permanent change.
Most of my work is long term psychotherapy but I also offer short term counselling and coaching.
The bio-dynamic body work treatment (see page) can be quite nurturing in it's own right, as it is a gentle yet powerful process in supporting the body to restore it's own equilibrium. It is therefore ideal as a regular support for those leading stressful lives or as an adjunct to psychotherapy.
Generally Psychotherapy and counselling can address issues such as a loss of direction in life or to support you in coming to a more solid sense of who you are?
More specifically, you may be seeking to improve your relationships with others, gain more control over your desires, addictions or anger, come to a sense of completion following a deep loss or to gain insight and support for chronic anxiety and depression.
Body Psychotherapy in particular is useful if you are ready to look at symptoms that are psychosomatic in nature. This does not take away the very real pain that the symptoms cause, simply it opens up new avenues for us to explore together.
Our sorrow and wounds are healed only when we touch them with compassion.
We will together find a balance between support and challenge with an approach that you are happy with. Our work could include talking, body work, imagining, role play and other interventions that are clinically effective and appropriate. We may sit in silence if this is helpful.
The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows.
When we work with ourselves rather than against ourselves, our defenses and also our hurt parts, then surprising changes can take place if we allow them.
My search for effectve and lasting transformation has led me to peak into the worlds of Focusing, Non Violent Communication, Speaking Circles, Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems. The search goes on.....
My work is a blend of my personal experiences, my training and all that my clients and I have found to be effective over the years.
It is an honour to join you on your journey
