WHAT IS IT?
I offer Counselling for as long as it is required. Usually clients choose this option when they have a pressing issue that has effected them. Usually emotions are triggered by many things and can include an imminent relationship breakdown, pressing debt worries, contact issues for separated parents, coming out to family members, redundancies, ageing, sudden or planned loss of important people and a whole host of other life events.
You may choose Integrative Psychotherapy for deeper issues and for issues that you may feel have become repetitive in your life and perhaps even destructive. This could be an addiction or deep seated anger.
It could be chronic depression or more a lack of motivation and meaning. It could be a difficulty in sustaining relationships. Perhaps you feel distant from important people in your life and want to address this.
Maybe you simply do not feel free to be yourself. In relation to this dilemma I have included the quote below which seems to point to the important of this dilemma, how to be ourselves in a way that we and others can live with.
Repression of the life force is a diagnosis that would describe most of the emotional problems that clients present in therapy
THOMAS MOORE
You may choose Body Psychotherapy if you have tried others styles to no avail. You may like it's underlying theory or have more physical issues that you would like to look at.
WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?
Anyone can benefit from personal development work, whether it is therapy, counselling or body work. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this question further.
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
This will vary depending on your wishes and my input as to the best way to help you. We come to a joint way of working together. If you really wanted to get a taste for the work I do, I would suggest that you book a one off consultation. There is no obligation and the fees are the standard session fee.
